Privacy policy

✦ This is a plain-language summary. Final legal copy should be reviewed by a lawyer or generated through a service like Termly or iubenda.
What we collect
To process your order, we collect: your name, email, shipping address, the files you send for printing, and payment details (handled by our payment processor — we never see or store card numbers). We also collect basic analytics (page views, referrer) using a privacy-respecting tool.
Why we collect it
- To print and ship your book
- To respond to your emails
- To send order status updates
- To improve the site (aggregate analytics only)
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with marketing partners. We don't use your manuscript files for anything other than printing your order. We don't add you to mailing lists you didn't sign up for.
How long we keep it
Order records: 7 years (for tax and accounting). Manuscript files: deleted from our active systems within 90 days of order completion. Email correspondence: retained as long as it might be useful for ongoing support.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to delete it, or correct anything inaccurate — email daniel@talegazers.com. Under GDPR (if you're in the EU) and CCPA (if you're in California), you have additional rights detailed in the full policy.

Your copyright stays yours
You retain 100% of the copyright to your manuscript, cover, and any materials you send us. We don't use, republish, or distribute your work. We print what you send us, full stop.
What we won't print
We reserve the right to decline orders for material that:
- Infringes someone else's copyright (you must own or have rights to print)
- Contains content that is illegal in our or your jurisdiction
- Contains hate speech, incitement to violence, or sexually explicit content involving minors
We're not picky. We've printed everything from family recipes to dissertations to memoirs about difficult subjects. We just won't be complicit in clearly harmful or unlawful content.
Quality & liability
We use commercial-grade printing partners and stand behind the physical quality of every book we ship. If something goes wrong with the print — damaged in transit, wrong specs, defective binding — we'll reprint at no charge. We're not liable for the content of your book, errors you didn't catch in the preview, or consequential damages.
Pricing changes
Quoted prices are valid for 30 days. After that, we may need to re-quote based on current paper and shipping rates — we'll always tell you if the price changes.
Refunds & returns

Before we print
Full refund, no questions asked. Email us before you approve the preview and we'll refund 100% of your payment within 5 business days.
After we print
Print-on-demand books are made specifically for your order — they can't be resold. For that reason, post-print refunds are handled case-by-case:
- If we made a mistake (printed wrong specs, missed a revision you approved): full refund or free reprint, your choice.
- If the book arrives damaged: email photos within 14 days — free reprint and reship.
- If you changed your mind after approving the preview: unfortunately, no refund — but we'll try to help you make it right (e.g. reprinting a small revision at cost).
How to request
Email daniel@talegazers.com with your Order ID and a brief description of what went wrong. We'll respond within one business day.
Shipping damage
Please inspect your package on arrival and email photos within 14 days if anything looks off. Beyond 14 days, we can still help in many cases but it gets harder to confirm what happened in transit.
